A two-year old!

Clara can reach up onto the kitchen counters. She worked out how to get out of her crib and open the door to her room more than a month ago. She taught herself how to jump on two feet while we were in Florida. Clara speaks in (mostly understandable) sentences and can sing the lyrics to many songs including Twinkle Twinkle, Goodnight Sweetheart, Rockabye Baby and The Wheels on the Bus. We we get in the car she asks for “Pooh” stories just like her sister (although unlike her sister she will protest getting into her carseat. Clara prefers sitting in Mimi’s seat).

Clara knows the words to books we’ve only read a few times. She is an expert biker on the wishbone no-pedal bike and has already taught herself how to glide. With a little help, she can get dressed by herself including her shoes and sweatshirt/jacket. Clara is an excellent hugger. She adores her sister. At night she has to sleep with the biggest stuffed animal and baby that we have. And they have to be tucked under the blankets just so.

Everywhere we go we get complimented on how well she behaves — “est-ce qu’elle est toujours sage comme ca?” She’s stubborn but she rarely stays mad or frustrated for long. Clara still loves babies and puzzles and books and helping me cook.

She is the most beautiful, sweet, expressive, loving, funny just-turned-two-year old.
