Facebook is really useful for some things. Say, for example, you thought you were about 9 weeks pregnant, but then after a quick trip to the doctor it turns out that you are, in fact, 13 weeks pregnant. Well, instead of emailing everyone you know, why not just mention something about Amelia making a great big sister on Facebook. It’s fast. It’s easy. And it guarantees you won’t accidentally leave anyone off your email list.

But not everyone is on Facebook. Ergo, this post. ETA for baby #2 is April 24. And yes, we know that will make two under two. But at least it isn’t three under two.

In Amelia news, she has started running. Luckily she’s not too fast yet, but I have little doubt her speed will only increase in the coming weeks. She’s taken to waving bye bye when I put her down for a nap or at night. It just breaks your heart every time. She can also say “Emmmaaa” which is the name of our cat. And “yes” and “no” and I think she can also say “shoes.” She insists on eating on her own and she tries to eat everything with her spoon. If she can’t scoop it up, she’ll use her fingers to put whatever she wants on the spoon, and then eat it. She mostly uses her right hand, but occasionally she will hold the spoon in her left, so I am still holding out hope she might be a lefty.

Amelia is such a charming kid. When we go to the park, she always waves at anyone who looks at her, and often waves at people who aren’t looking at her, hoping they will. She is interested in other kids but usually prefers one-on-one interaction. She tends to want to do her own thing if there is a large group of children around.

Ultimate season is over for me, which is good since I’m not sure I would have actually wanted to continue playing, knowing that I was further along in the pregnancy than I had anticipated. Aside from the excessive tiredness, I had no other first-trimester symptoms, which was great. And since apparently I’m into trimester two, I can now look forward to the time that my pants start feeling tight. Guess I should dig out the BellaBand in preparation.

You’ll have to change the name of the blog! :-)
I re-discovered my Bella Band yesterday after having it sit in the drawer for months. Getting tired of the same maternity clothes…managed to wear pre-pregnancy jeans with the Band at 37 weeks!
Anyway congrats to you, Ian and Amelia, can’t wait to hear about the journey!
