Amelia is growing and changing each day. Now she will regularly smile and “talk” to you through cute little cooing noises. She also will turn her head to look for her daddy if she hears his voice nearby. She loves to stare into your eyes for long periods of time. She is also getting used to her swing. The first time we put her in she started crying right away. It might have been too much stimulation all at once, with the swinging and vibrating & the mobile swinging overhead. I try to put her in it for a few minutes at a time, and she is becoming more comfortable with it, especially if we don’t put the vibration and the swinging on simulanously.
Today I actually made it through about 40 pages of a book while Amelia was sleeping. I’ve been trying to do laundry and dishes and other tasks while she sleeps, but today I decided I’d just relax and read. I haven’t found that I am tired enough to nap during the day each day, but I do crash around 9 pm (early, even for me!). It was rainy so we didn’t go out for a walk, but I did jog over to the pharmacy (2 blocks).
I don’t understand the point of filling out information online if I then have to print something out and mail it in. Why have online registration if you have to follow it up with snailmail? Seems ridiculous (note to potential parents - you will need to use snailmail for both your maternity benefits application and your federal government child benefits).
Now I need to figure out how to get Amelia a passport & medicare card. I think we need to wait until we receive her birth certificate in the mail before we can apply for these things.
Has anyone tried the Yes to Carrots skincare line? I am curious to know how it works. The reviews seem good, but I am skeptical about product that is so cheap yet bills itself as “organic.” They don’t have it at my local Pharmaprix to test it out. Has anyone seen it on the shelves?
