habs, als and other sports adventures

It was a packed sports weekend. First we saw the Habs thrash the Thrashers on Sat night. Good game, Huet played great (if Souray hadn’t scored on his own net, Huet would have had a shut-out) and the Atlanta goalie had some really nice saves too. Plus they honoured Serge Savard by retiring #18 to the rafters. It was neat to be part of that action.
Sunday we watched the Als game with some friends. Well, I mostly played with some our friends’ kids, and periodically watched the Als get pummelled again in the Grey Cup. Perennial finalists, rarely winners. I’m sure the fans at the game didn’t mind, as they were probably busy drinking in an effort to stave off the cold.
We also squeezed in a workout on Sat, to cap off our fun-filled adventure weekend. It’s better than sitting in front of the TV, that’s for sure (although at the MAA, you can watch TV -your own- while you work out…hmmm).
We saw Borat last weekend, which was oftentimes entertaining, oftentimes painful to watch. I wish I had seen less hype about the movie, because I feel like I would have enjoyed it more. Maybe not. I’m not surprised those drunken college kids are suing. It’ll be interesting to see how the potential case pans out.
And what is this about OJ Simpson writing a book called if I did it. IF? People are actually going to read this? Apparently some FOX shows/affiliates are planning to boycott Fox’s airing of an interview with the ex-sports creep.
