Literacy

Today is Family Literacy Day in Canada. I, for one, didn’t know this “holiday” existed until I read it on meli-mello’s blog (she’s having some giveaways so you should head over to visit). In celebration, Amelia and I are going to go get a library card at our local branch this afternoon.

I am also going to make a donation to an organization called Project Night Night that gives homeless kids staying in a shelter a stuffed animal, a blanket and a book for free (read about it on coolmompicks).

Furthermore, I went to the bookstore this morning and purchased several of my favourite titles. Do you need a new book? If so, tell me why in the comments. I’ll pick a winner at random and you’ll get a book in the mail!

Happy Reading.

I love the Toronto library, I’ve been going almost every week since I moved here. They have a great catalogue online where you can request to have items from any branch in the city sent to your local branch and they have new bestsellers :)
    Happy Literacy Day!!

Me! Me! Who doesn’t like to send things to Vancouver? And of course, you’ve always inspired me to read….still catching up on the titles from Banff. Xo

Because there are too many textbooks and not enough “literature for leisure” type books on my bookshelf. :)

BTW I loved going to the library growing up. Hope you girls have fun! xo

I suppose I don’t really “need” a new book as I have plenty of unread books waiting to be read on my bookshelf. However, I’m very intrigued by all the books that you mention on your blog because I recognize so few of them. So I’d love to read one of your choice items. Also, english books are wicked expensive here in Belgium. xoxo

I do need a new book. Because, I am sad to say, I have not bought a book to read for pleasure in probably over a year. Sad but true. That, and the fact that you have good taste and I would undoubtedly enjoy any book you send and then send on to someone else deserving when I am done!

    Love to the fam.

I would love to read a new book because I seem to be obsessively reading parenting (your toddler) type of books. It would be a nice break! Will you ship to California??! xx
