organics

Here’s a site I came across in my organic baby products investigation. It has some really neat gifts (I particularly like the animal blankets) and they donate 1 percent of each purchase to the David Suzuki Foundation. I don’t know anything about their customer service or quality of the products since I haven’t purchased anything from them yet, but it seems like a good place to buy gifts.

Speaking of organics, so far I like the organic receiving blankets from Piccolo Bambino best overall, although they are a little tough to use as swaddling material if your baby is very active (like Amelia). I also really like the Westcoast Baby receiving blanket, which is super-thin and has stretch in it so it is easier to pull tight when you are swaddling. However, it is a little small and therefore makes it difficult to secure Amelia’s feet in the swaddle.

And a word to the wise (or the pregnant, at least) — You really do need a ton of baby washcloths. We use them for everything, and probably have about 25 but could use more. I believe 40 is the recommended number, in some circles!
