Ok, it isn’t exactly summer yet but we have been having warm, sunny weather and have been trying to spend as much time outside as we can. Amelia and I have now made a habit of going to le petit gym for their weekly “bugs” class (4-10 months). It’s nice for Amelia to see other babies and to be exposed to new activities that we don’t necessarily do at home. She loves the bubbles and the jingle bells that start and end every class. She’s not very keen on the parachute. All the babies are supposed to sit or lie in the middle (on top of the parachute) while the parents hold the edge and slowly walk in a circle but Amelia won’t do it. She barely tolerates holding onto the edge of the parachute with the other parents. I’m not sure what it is about it that she doesn’t like, but perhaps it is just too much visual stimulation all at once. The other babies don’t seem phased about it at all, but they also don’t seem to be as alert as she is either.
She’s getting better at crawling and has added downward dog and child’s pose to her moves. She can get one knee up into the crawl position consistently now, but hasn’t made the leap to moving her knees forward in synch with her hands. It’ll come soon enough, I’m sure.
I’m almost finished Connected Parenting, the next book I’m reading for Penguin. Review should be up this week. In the meantime, here are some other household members who also love to read:

She’s going to be a smart one but will need glasses real soon ;)
