We celebrated my brother’s birthday in Vermont. The weather wasn’t ideal, but there were some sunny stretches on both Saturday and Sunday so Amelia got to enjoy spending time outside. She also had fun visiting the cows, staring and staring at them across the fence.
We went for a walk on Sunday morning up to the back pasture where my dad built a pond a few years ago. On clear days, you can see Jay Peak from there. Anyway, Amelia had her first real swim in the pond. For the first few minutes, she would only let us put her feet in but after she got comfortable she started reaching down towards the water with her hands. Then she was splashing up a storm. And she practiced her froggy kick. She particularly liked watching my parents’ dog swim.
