Vacation day #1
Sep 8th, 2008 by alio
So today was my first “vacation” day before maternity leave starts (when I sign up with the Quebec govenment and get paid part of my salary for a year). I had six days saved up, and since our last vacation was skiing in Banff for a week, not having anything to do or anywhere to be was pretty nice.
I definitely need more books if I am going to be relaxing for any length of time before the baby comes. I stopped reading the pregnancy books several months ago, but recently picked them up again to give myself an idea about what to expect during labour. If there is one thing these books agree on, it’s that everyone has a unique labour experience. Oh, and all the books claim to be the only ones to tell you “the truth” about being in labour.
Fun fact of the day? (not for the squeamish….) after giving birth and expelling the placenta etc., you should not be concerned about expelling blood clots unless they are bigger than a lemon! A LEMON.
